Barbara Price Davis was an “artist” from a very young age, according to her grandmother. She received a minor in art in college, and spent 2 years as a working artist and muralist before committing herself to running a non-profit community art studio, Community Imagination Studio, for ten years. She has taught many art classes and transformational art groups, has sold work at community festivals, and donated work for local fundraisers.
Today, her mediums have advanced from those early crayon days, and she currently works in acrylic, watercolor, and colored pencil, but also plays in clay and makes functional pottery and jewelry. She also has had the honor of painting the horse at the NWA Florist 14 times during her career for many different community events and organizations.
In 2009, Barbara was recognized by the Iota Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society as was awarded the “Key Woman Educator in Art” award. For the past three years, she has focused her efforts on working with disadvantaged groups using art for healing and personal growth.
